Publishing House Case Study
http://condenast.co.uk/
Condé Nast Digital does various magazines such as; Glamour – which states it in the name it is a glamour magazine mainly for women, Tatler, Vanity Fair, Love magazine, Easy Living, Brides Magazine, G&Q -The home of cool stuff, Easy Living and House and Brides magazine, overall all these magazines are mainly target at women and glamour and home whereas there is a few men’s magazine such as G&Q and G&Q style however they various magazines which gives them a wide range of target audience, Conde Nast gets a bigger audience and more clients that may want to join their publishing house that may not be already apart of them e.g. my magazine is a music magazine they do not have any music magazine therefore a client like me maybe interested to join them because they do not have another client that has a music magazine.
Condé Nast Digital also publishes various magazines titles such as;
Ferrari
Baku
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
Maybourne Hotel Group
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks Journal
Condé Nast K magazine
Vertu
Selfridges
Israel: The Hidden Gems
The types of audiences that are targeted by these magazines are vary because they are not all the same so there target audiences will vary;
Ferrari – ‘distributed to Ferrari owners and enthusiasts’ therefore their target market is based on people who own a Ferrari and may be interested in a magazine based on their type of car.
Baku- Baku target market is aimed at people who are interested into global arts, culture and fashion it is however published by the publishing house itself Condé Nast and is also distributed worldwide.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group – This is a magazine that is actually published for a hotel which published twice in a year and is aimed at the guests they receive within the hotel.
Maybourne Hotel Group – This is also a hotel and is aimed at the guests that the hotel will receive it is aimed at the guests for Claridge’s.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks Journal- This magazine is aimed at business people and their lifestyle magazine and is only published twice a year.
Condé Nast K magazine- This is the publishing house magazine and is aimed at people who like to travel and are interested in their lifestyle and fashion and is distributed international,
Selfridges- This is a magazine target at their consumers and it will be published with other popular titles and is aimed at a lot of people.
Israel: The Hidden Gems- Israel magazine is a side magazine as in it is a coffee table book/magazine therefore it may be aimed at businesses who are interested in fashion, architecture, ancient rituals, travelling and stories from fashion or also aimed at general business that may want magazines for people to read whilst waiting.
They would target different audiences with each magazine that it makes because it would be no use of having the same magazine because it would not be exciting as it would be if you have different audiences whereas because you have a variety you have more to look at and not just one particular audience you have different view of things.
Condé Nast Digital does not do any other business interest except there publishing business I know this because on their home page is says ‘Condé Nast is the world’s leading publisher of upmarket glossy magazines. Our Contract Publishing division works with a number of clients to create beautiful customer magazines that rise above the sea of marketing material received by today’s consumer. We use our editors, creative directors, photographers and writers to create bespoke magazines and coffee table books for hotel groups, retailers and luxury goods houses. We won’t compromise our standards for anybody’, which tell me that they only create beautiful customer magazines and so on therefore my evidence has proved that that this all they specialise in which is contract publishing.
